01

Start with the exact product

Ask the supplier to identify the proposed SKU, product name, specification and manufacturing arrangement before discussing a Halal statement. A general certificate reference is not enough to confirm coverage for every product.

02

Review the certificate scope

Request the certificate number, validity period, certificate holder, listed product name and any schedule or appendix that defines the covered range.

  • Exact product or SKU
  • Certificate validity
  • Listed manufacturer and certificate holder
  • Current product schedule
03

Separate coverage from mark use

A product may appear on a certificate schedule while packaging mark use still requires its own review. Confirm how the proposed market, artwork and label wording should be handled before print files are approved.

04

Keep the document trail current

Certificates, formulations, pack arrangements and destination-market requirements can change. Keep the reviewed copy with the approved commercial specification and recheck the documents when the product or market changes.

Keep the review product-specific.

This guide provides general commercial orientation. Confirm the current product specification, certificate scope and destination-market requirements before final artwork or purchase decisions.
